The African Goshawk (Accipiter tachiro) is a species of bird of prey in theAccipitridae family. As defined here following the Handbook of the Birds of the World, it is found in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda,Somalia, Somaliland, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, andZimbabwe. It is often considered conspecific with the Red-chested Goshawk of western and central Africa (BirdLife International 2007).
