The Rufous-breasted Sparrowhawk (Accipiter rufiventris), also known as theRufous-chested Sparrowhawk, is a species of bird of prey in the Accipitridae family. It is found in AngolaDemocratic Republic of the CongoEritreaEthiopiaKenya,LesothoMalawiMozambiqueRwandaSouth AfricaSudanSwazilandTanzania,UgandaZambia, and Zimbabwe.

Taxonomy

It forms a superspecies with Eurasian Sparrowhawk (A. nisus) and possibly Madagascar Sparrowhawk (A. madagascariensis) (Ferguson-Lees and Christie 2001).
